Sunshine Music Therapy Services

Sunshine Music Therapy Services serve a variety of populations across the entire Idaho Treasure Valley from Harris Ranch to Middleton. We utilize music as a means to target a variety of different goal areas including communication, cognitive, motor, and social skills, as well as emotional expression and processing. We offer both in home and in clinic sessions and work with private pay as well as with the Medicaid Waiver program.

Meet Bailey Wilson

Bailey was born and raised in Boise, ID. She holds bachelors’ degrees in Viola Performance from Boise State University and Music Therapy from Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. She works with a wide variety of ages from toddlerhood to older adults with diagnoses including anxiety and depression, Autism Spectrum Disorder, dementia, and a variety of other diagnoses. She loves making music and seeing the joy that music brings to her client's’ lives while working on non-musical goals. When not making music, both inside and outside of sessions, Bailey enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with her husband and her dog, Maddie.

Bailey has been a Board Certified music therapist since 2020 and has sat on the Executive Board as the Media Relations Coordinator for the Western Region of the American Music Therapy Association since 2022. She has also been a supervisor for two interns. She and her former co-workers additionally founded a new internship site in 2023, the Treasure Valley Collective Music Therapy Internship.

What is music therapy?

Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. Music therapy interventions can address a variety of healthcare and educational goals (American Music Therapy Association).

Increase communication skills

Music therapy can be used to support the building of communication in both expressive and receptive communication!

Improve mental health

Music can be help to regulate our bodies and minds as well as helping as a coping mechanism for depression and anxiety.

Advance motor skills

Using rhythm among other musical aspects, can be incredibly effective for improving gross motor function and coordination. Music therapy is also effective for working on a wide variety of different fine motor skills.
